The relief and recovery needs of Hurricane Helene survivors are staggering and will continue well into the future.
They need your support!
Dear Aaron,
The destruction brought by Hurricane Helene is so widespread, and now Hurricane Milton is on the way. Hope Force needs your help continuing relief work and preparing for what lies ahead.
➡️ Please pray for survivors, responders, local, state and national leaders. ➡️ Please give a financial donation to sustain Hope Force’s ongoing efforts.
➡️ Please go. Be part of the solution. Become a pre-trained Hope Force Reservist, equipped to serve now and in the future (non-trained volunteers: don’t hesitate to click on the link below to convey interest).
Our Hope Force Reservists continue to serve the people of devastated Western North Carolina. As Reservists continue to selflessly rearrange their personal lives to say “Here I am Lord, send me!”, the scale of the loss grows daily. As Hope Force Staff member Brian Wagner makes his way from Maggie Valley, NC to our Hope Force Appalachia mission in McDowell County, WV, Brian sent this message:
“I am currently on my way to West Virginia, but I am in Asheville, NC, right now. I’ve never used this word before to describe what I’m seeing, but the scene here is staggering.”

It was with great reluctance that our team in Crystal River, Florida had to close down our deployment on October 7th. Although the team was making great progress helping homeowners sort through their belongings, pack up what could be saved, and remove the rest from flooded homes, the approaching catastrophic Hurricane Milton has forced the team to pack up their deployment gear and evacuate, along with tens of thousands of Floridians along the west coast of the state. Hope Force Disaster Response Assistant and former Florida resident, Joe Clara, says:
“It feels like 2004 and 2005 all over again! In those two hurricane seasons the state was struck 8 times by hurricanes – we couldn’t seem to get cleaned up from one before the next one struck!”
Pre-Fab Build in Nashville, TN with Solomon Builders
This past Saturday, Hope Force came together with long time Hope Force supporters, Solomon Builders, in conjunction with The Fuller Center, to do something special. In the parking lot of Woodmont Hills Church, the walls of two brand new homes were framed up by crews from Solomon Builders and Hope Force Director of Disaster Services, Joey Stoltzfus. Today, those walls were taken down, loaded on to a semi-trailer, and are on the way to bless two families in Kentucky whose houses were destroyed three years ago in a devastating tornado. In the midst of tragedy, homes of hope were born with the sounds of saws, nail guns, hammers, and voices of people giving praise to the One who gives only good gifts.
Hope Force Appalachia
With the destruction wrought by Hurricane Helene, Hope Force had to pivot quickly to respond. Hope Force Appalachia Director, Brian Wagner, changed plans and headed to Newport, Tennessee to meet with Operations Manager Aaron Stetson to assess the need and initiate our response. However, there was still one more team of the season coming to War, West Virginia to bring help and hope to one of the poorest counties in the entire United States. Fortunately, one of the team members, John Gorton, of New Jersey was just the man for the job of leading the team from his church. John has been to McDowell County several times, and was able to fill in for Brian, until he could arrive today.
We know this is a lot of information, and with another massive disaster on the horizon, there's more to come. We will keep updating you on how to make a practical, lasting difference for all the survivors needing help.
Thank you for partnering with us to bring hope and love to the hurting!
