What do you say to a mother staring at the ashes of her home? Or a father standing in floodwater, wondering where his kids will sleep tonight?
These are the moments when Hope Force shows up. đŞ Not with all the answers, but with compassion, training, and the readiness to respond.
In the past month, your support fueled deployments to fire-ravaged California, storm-struck Appalachia, and flood-soaked neighborhoods across Tennessee and Kentucky.
In todayâs Hope in Action newsletter, youâll see how youâre bringing hope to survivors around the world and how to keep standing with them in the months ahead.
đĽ Southern California
Helping fire survivors rise from the ashes.
When a devastating wildfire tore through the hills of Altadena and Pasadena, CA, families were left sifting through ash and heartbreak. For weeks, Hope Force worked patiently to find a pathway to serve in this tightly connected and complex community.
When the door finally opened, our team stepped inâhelping survivors recover treasured belongings, offering emotional support, and beginning the long process of cleanup and repair. It wasnât easy, but thanks to you, we were right where we were needed when it mattered most.
Here are the stats of the impact you helped make:
Total Volunteers Deployed: 28
Total Volunteer Hours: 1,577
Total Families Helped: 27
The road to recovery in Altadena is long, but you can help make it less lonely. Our team is still exploring new ways to serve this fire-struck community, and your gift can bring comfort, connection, and hope to survivors still picking up the pieces.

đ Myanmar & Thailand â Earthquakes
Our hearts are brokenâbut our eyes remain open.
When powerful earthquakes struck Myanmar and Northern Thailand last month, the devastation was overwhelming. Lives were lost, communities were shaken, and the situation quickly grew more complexâcompounded by civil unrest and dangerous conditions on the ground.
Hope Force has been monitoring the crisis closely, in communication with trusted partners in the region. While we have not found a safe, clear pathway to deploy at this time, our hearts remain with the survivorsâand our prayers continue.
đ Join us in praying for comfort, healing, and open doors for survivors to receive the help they need.
In March, your support sent Hope Force Reservists back into Appalachiaâa region still reeling from cycles of poverty, flooding, and tornado damage. Power outages and food insecurity layered on more hardship for vulnerable families. But because of you, we were able to:
Offer Emotional and Spiritual Care
Begin restoring homes with volunteer labor
Another Hope Force team is deploying to West Virginia in the beginning of May to repair family homes that have been damaged for months. These families deserve to finally have a safe, dry place to live again, and we are so excited for the impact that will be made on this deployment. Pray with us that these survivors will feel loved and encouraged, and give to this project if your heart moves you! â¤ď¸
