From Mayreau... to Mexico... to Milton! For the past four months, Hope Force has been actively serving across the Southeastern U.S., Mexico, and the Caribbean. Our teams have been working tirelessly to serve disaster survivors by:
Tarping homes on the Grenadine Island of Mayreau
Post-hurricane flood remediation projects, distribution of food and supplies, home repairs and more in several states of Mexico
Constructing prefab houses for tornado survivors in Kentucky and Mississippi
Tarping and mucking out homes in Florida, Georgia, and North Carolina due to the damage of Hurricanes Helene and Milton
Continuing to serve chronic need in West Virginia, Oklahoma, and Haiti
The challenges we’ve faced have undoubtedly stretched us, but they've also revealed the incredible ways our God works. He has continuously "shown up and shown off," demonstrating His power and mercy in the face of multiple disasters. Our team has been uplifted and encouraged by the overwhelming prayer and financial support from our supporters.
Read on to learn more about how Hope Force is bringing hope and help to those we are privileged to serve in November!
Meet Reverend Charles and Pam Howard, who joined Hope Force on their very first deployment to North Carolina last month. After serving for a week in North Carolina, they headed straight to Rubonia, Florida, eager to continue serving disaster survivors. Together, they quickly learned the ropes of mucking out a home, and Pam's hospitality and culinary talents shone as she treated our Reservists to what many call the best macaroni and cheese they've ever tasted.
Witnessing the devastation in North Carolina moved the Howards to action. Committed to serving, they canceled future vacation plans to have the funds necessary to deploy and help those in need!
Pam shared, “I loved being the hands, feet, and ears of Jesus. It was a privilege to encourage and pray for those hurt by the hurricane. It was physically and emotionally hard work but very rewarding, and I hope to have the opportunity to do it again.”
Charles and Pam have a fascinating story and we hope you'll get the chance to serve alongside them soon!
Hope Force is privileged to come alongside the residents of Seminole, Oklahoma, for a week of rebuilding and recovery from the two tornados in May 2022. We have four projects we want to either finish or make big progress on this week!
Project #1 - Autumn and Waylon: Finish repairing a family’s home that was severely damaged in 2022. We hope to get them in their home by Thanksgiving with painting and completing the last few construction projects.
Project #2 - New Build: Complete the following before winter.
Paint Hardie siding
Front porch and side steps
Insulation and drywall
Rough-in plumbing for inspection
Project #3 -New roof for elderly woman: She has been waiting two years for a new roof for her home. We would love to make this happen for her so her home will be warm and dry for Thanksgiving.
Project #4 - Future Team House: Before we can house any volunteer teams, we need to finish the following:
Minor demo and cleaning
Frame bathrooms
Repair walls and flooring
It's not lost on us that you may have participated in recent deployments in NC and FL and need more time to recharge. However, if you want to be a part of this rebuild and recovery week, please sign up here!
If you can't deploy at this time, please consider donating to the efforts of bringing compassion in action to our friends and neighbors in Seminole.
Our recent visit to Haiti, “The Pearl of the Caribbean,” was more challenging than usual and required a domestic flight and a boat trip to reach our destination due to current security concerns and lack of road access.
We purchased and shipped school supplies to the South by boat, successfully distributing notebooks, pens, pencils, and essentials to over 200 children and teens in our sponsorship program. Schools start in October, and we have more children on our waitlist and are seeking more sponsors. For $34 per month, you can provide a child with education and regular food supplies.
Thanks to our supporters, Hope Force Haiti also completed its seventh family latrine this year. However, we’ve exhausted funding for this project. Each latrine costs $1,850 — covering materials, labor, and logistics, and we need your help to continue this vital work. We are so grateful for our ability to serve Haiti from afar and want to share Praises and Prayer Requests!
PRAISES 🙌
Safe travel to Haiti.
Successful shipment and distribution of school supplies to 200+ sponsored children.
First school fee payments made for sponsored students.
Food distributed to sponsored children and their families.
Completion of a family latrine, with local contributions.
PRAYER REQUESTS 🙏
Safety for our area amidst nearby gang activity.
Protection and perseverance for schools, staff, and students throughout the school year.
Smooth preparations for the next trip to Haiti.
As always, we are thankful for your continued support to help us make a difference in the lives of the people of Haiti.
November is another busy month for our team, but we wouldn't want it any other way. Lives are being changed and we are so thankful you're here alongside us bringing hope to the hopeless!
